Hi, I hope theres still some activity around these parts.
Ive just dusted down my old but reliable PC and purchased some RAM.
Kingston DDR-RAM 1GB CL2.5 333MHZ PC2700,
I know that I can only use 266MHZ but I understand that RAM is backward compatible.
I also believe that the max for this MB is 1 GB of RAM so I removed the 128MB Infineon SDRAM and slot the 1GB stick in.
Now when I try to power her up I get nothing no lights, no fan, nothing, I swap the ram about but still nothing, then I replace the 1GB stick with the 128MB Ram she powers up no problem, but when I try to power up with the 2 sticks in again Im back to nothing.
The other newer computer only takes DDR2 DIMM so I cant check the RAM in the newer PC so I dont know if its the RAM or the MB.
As I am wishing to install Ubuntu and use the PC as an internet hub I need more ram, can anyone help me out here?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
