I salvaged an AMD Athlon 2400+ from an old system and put it into one of these boards, revision 3.1a. With the FSB at 133, I got the full 2GHz. I don't
know what happened, but one day I booted up into the Checksum Error message that happens when you reset the BIOS, and the computer froze within seconds after
booting into XP and caused Kernel Panics in Ubuntu 7.10. BIOS upgrades didn't solve anything.
The closest thing I could do was get a 2500+ and using the OC BIOS get the FSB to 147/147. It squeals horribly at 150/150 and doesn't boot at all on 166/166.
Here are my questions: can I get it to be stable with a 2400+ again? If not, can I get it to run at 166/166 for the 2500+? Failing that, what will work on this thing?
