Well, for whatever it's worth...here are my thoughts on the Card Reader.

The install sheet that comes with it says to use the drivers that are on the system disk. I installed the Reader on a new build, and did not install the drivers from the disk. Windows XP recognized the drive and loaded native MS drivers for it.

Several people have reported problems with the Reader corrupting media. I personally have had no trouble, I use it all the time for three different media types and have been very happy with it. I hypothesize it has something to do with the drivers on the disk, but have no proof to back it up.

As to the interface, if you are using Win 2000 or XP, it will just show up in the My Computer menu as a removable hard drive, so it is exactly like accessing your hard drive or a CD Rom.

I would have never thought something like the Reader would be useful to me, but now that I have it onboard, I am very happy with it.
