Got an XP athlon 2200 processor and thinking of upgrading it to the XP 3000, will this board be able to take the 3000? What would entail to do the upgrade? Can anyone tell more about this particular board in terms of reliability, performance etc? As you can tell I'm a novice an your help is much appreciated.

Hey thanks for your response. I actually went ahead and took the chance and just bought the XP 3000 , slap it on the motherboard, but looks like it's not recognizing the XP 3000. Under my computer properties, it still says I have the XP 2200. Any ideas what I should do next? Thanks.

first, make sure you have the 333mhz FSB XP3000 and not a 400mhz FSB, the 400mhz Barton isn't supported by the chipset on your MB, and thus isn't going to be properly recognized in the BIOS...
If you do have a 333mhz CPU, make sure your CPU clock in your BIOS is set to 166 (166x2=333), and it should be recognized properly...if that still doesn't work, you may have to flash to the most recent BIOS... |

Thank you sir! I do have the 333mhz and that's exactly what it was! I just needed to set it the clock to 166. Thanks for your help!! and happy 4th!
