Posts: 0 (07/27/04 18:39:50) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None I have a new board with the following: CPU AMD 2200 /266 Athlon XP Memory Kingston 256MB PC2700 Hard drive Maxtor 40 GB 7200 Ultra ATA /133 graphics card is 3D Win 98SE is on hard drive. I cannot get this system to boot past the windows LOGO screen. Restarting only hangs. Resetting the CMOS lets me get into the bios. I have tried both the optimal and fail safe settings with the same results. I can use a boot disk to get to the CD-rom but system stalls after typing setup. Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA ja

Always a good idea after a major hardware change (and a new m/b is about as major as you can get).

I forgot to mention the 300 watt power supply. CPU and DRAM frequency is 133. All voltages and temperatures are normal. I even tried to reformat with the Maxtor disk with same results. I guess I will try a different CDROM. ja

Posts: 0 (08/16/04 12:24:59) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I was finally able to flash the bios with the latest from ECS(it took two flashes) with AMINF336. No problems if I leave the default settings at 100 for CPU and 166 for DDR. Problem is I have a XP2200+ with 266 FSB with 256 DDR @ 333. If I change CPU to 133 it hangs during post. It runs fine at 1350 but not at 1800. It takes several hours for the CMOS to reset before I can get to the Bios setup after a hangup. I guess my next step is to try flashing with either 021209b or Chb313. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
