Does this only happen with games( if so which ones) or does it happen with other applications?
Does the game disappear from the Start/Programs menu . Does the Desktop Icon for the game appear when you install the game and if it does,does it remain or disappear after restarting?Does the game disappear from C/Program Files? When you have installed the game ,does it show in ControlPanel/Add remove Programs list? Cheers Dave |

this problem only happens on games not other programs like photoshop, it happens with soldier of fortune: double helix and meal of honor. On soldier of fortune it plays the intro things with the company names on it but then stopa and brings up an error message. I don't think it's the games because i've used numerous copies. I've gotten word that it could be an "openGL" problem in my video drivers but i've reinstalled my video card many times and have downloaded the latest dirvers. Thanks

Re: already tried reformat | ||

Use a DOS floppy disk and type
format C: /q when DOS is loaded. Hell, even Windows 2000 and Windows XP have their own format utilities included with the installer. Try using those. |

Re: ????? | ||

Put a floppy disk in your drive. Use Windows Explorer to navigate to your A: drive and right click its icon. Click "Format" select "create a MS-DOS startup disk."

Re: ????? | ||

alternatively ,download a copy of the boot disk online- there are plenty of sites where you can do this- then just "send to 3 1/2 inch floppy"
