In case anyone is interested...
I picked-up a couple Syntax SV266AD motherboards with the venerable KT266A/VT8235 chipset for dirt cheap - $22.00 each shipped. Great no-frills motherboard for basic PC.
This is the same board as PC Chips M811LU v3.1, ECS K7VTA2 Pro v3.1, and Shuttle AK32VN (and probably a couple more).
The latest BIOS out of all is from PC Chips dated 2004/09/16, which adds support for Sempron processors. Obviously Sempron will only run @ 266MHz FSB, but I did update the Syntax board with the PC Chips BIOS for M811LU v3.1 and Sempron is recognized properly.
The update went without a hitch. I have successfully tested a 160GB hard drive on this board, too.
