Hi all!
I have a Duron Morgan 1300 running on a K7S5A Pro.
I know it is one of the worst CPU's to overclock, so I'm not looking for increasing it's speed, what I would like to do is to reduce it's multiplier to 10x and then set the FSB to 133MHz, instead of running it with 100MHz FSB and 13x multiplier.
Now, the questions:
        - Will I have a real improvement doing so?
        - Can it harm the CPU?
I have read the Beginner's guide to overclocking the K7S5A and I have a couple of questions:
        - Is the wire trick dangerous? I mean, what happens if I do it the wrong way?
        - About the L5 BRIDGE MOD to MOBILE, I read in the guide that the multiplier is set by default to 11x. Then, if I set the FSB to 133MHz via the BIOS I will be overclocking the CPU until I start CrystalCPUID (11x133=1463MHz), not too much, but could it be a problem? I suppose the soltion can be SpeedFan, setting to 100MHz the FSB in the BIOS and then raising it to 133 with speedfan. But, does anybody know if K7S5A uses the same clock generator ar K7S5A standard? May I damage the board I I try to change the FSB with SpeedFan using the wrong clock generator?
The relevant information of my little Duron, taken from CPU-Z is the following:
        Code Name: Morgan
Voltage: 1.808V (isn't it too high?)
        Family: 6
        Model: 7
        Ext. Family: 7
        Ext. Model: 7
        Stepping: 1
        Revision: N/A
I suppose that it is unlocked, as I bought it on 07/17/2003, isn't it?
That's all, thank you very much for your attention and/or replies.
