Hi, I have this PC with the K7S5A motherboard since 2000. I've been putting new parts in it every year or so. It's been running very good, no complains.... until I tried to play Doom 3 with it, which runs at an amazing 10 fps! So I feel like it's time to upgrade this dinosaur, so I can play Doom 3!

The current specs are:

- K7S5A motherboard v3.1, CheepoBIOS.
- 350 Watt CODEGEN Power Supply (+3.3V/20A, +5V/30A, +12V/12A, +5VSB/2A, -5V/0.5A, -12V/0.8A).
- 640 MB PC133 SDRAM (512 MB Kingston ValueRAM + 128 MB NEC).
- Athlon Thunderbird 900 MHz. (YES, I know it's a dinosaur but it's been my trusty old friend )
- Geforce 2 MX 32 MB RAM.
- LG 52x MAX CD-ROM & Lite-On 811S 8x DVD+RW Writer
- Western Digital 40 GIG & Maxtor 20 GIG HD
- NIC & USB2.0 card

The intended upgrade specs:

- K7S5A motherboard v3.1, HoneyX OC 030811 BIOS.
- 350 Watt CODEGEN Power Supply (+3.3V/20A, +5V/30A, +12V/12A, +5VSB/2A, -5V/0.5A, -12V/0.8A).
- 1 GB PC3200 DDR RAM ( 2 x 512 MB, I know this MB doesn't support a stick of 1 GB RAM ).
- Athlon XP 2400+ or 2600+.
- ATI Radeon 9800 SE, will try to softmod to PRO.
- LG 52x MAX CD-ROM & Lite-On 811S 8x DVD+RW Writer
- Western Digital 40 GIG & Maxtor 20 GIG HD
- NIC & USB2.0 card

So basically, I'm getting a new CPU, faster RAM's and a much better video card. What are your suggestions? Will I need a new power supply to handle the new peripherals? Thank you in advance.
