I need help with the USB header cable that is part of the case I bought.
It isn't a cable with a complete plug that I just plug onto the header on
the mainboard,
but instead, it is a strand of wires with the little plugs that plug onto
the little pins one-by-one.
They are all labeled. But the labels differ from the names ECS uses for the
pins.
One of the wires is coded red, one of the two ground wires. I guess that
signifies
that it is for port 0 (the first port) and plugged onto pin7 on the left column.
Ok, here's how ECS wants these plugs connected:
1X 2X
3X 4X
5X 6X
7X 8X
9X 10X
1 = VREG_FP_USBPWR0
2 = VREG_FP_USBPWR0
3 = USB_FP_P0-
4 = USB_FP_P1-
5 = USB_FP_P0+
6 = USB_FP_P1+
7 = GROUND
8 = GROUND
9 = KEY
10 = USB_FP_OC0
And here's how the wires are labeled:
+5V 1
+5V 2
D+ 1
D- 1
D+ 2
D- 2
GROUND 1
GROUND 2
Ok, here it is obvious that there are 8 wires to connect, 4 for each port
(the case has 2 ports in the front).
Now I can't safely assign ECS's wiring scheme to the corresponding wires, and more
importantly, I don't know
if I can do it so it is consistent and not cross-wired (which might blow the
usb circuitry).
So I could use some help with this, I would be grateful for every pointer!!
Thanks in advance for answering.
