I have problem i flashed bios on k7s5a rev 3.1 with Honey x Bios

030327 OC beta BIOS. (With and without FastWrites enabled) 1PM MET time 20.08.2003

Bases on the 030327 ECS K7S5A beta BIOS.

HX0327.ROM for LAN and non LAN Mobos.

runnig at 657MHZ

I have 2 problem's my x-honey bios, does not detect the hd, and more important the Amd Sempron 2000 MHZ, it's running at 657MHZ, acording to sysinfo, and it's very slow; i'm using a live cd linux knoppix; is the some command like:
sudo install viagra on cpu, and it runs at 2000Mhz.
The frequency is correct, but the processor got knock via ip, some wizard from the net!!!?!!!

Does the CheepoMan BIOS enable SSE?

I have CheepoMan's chb0811f on my board. Does that one have SSE support? Is there a BIOS that can eek out any more performance?

I've already changed the fullscreen boot logo, no problem with AMIBCP. (Getting a useable PCX file out of Photoshop CS2 was more difficult.)

To complete the "Portal" makeover I want to replace the small AMI logo with the Aperture Science logo and the copyright text with GLaDOS (C) 1986-2007

I've put the Aperture Science logo in the middle of the fullscreen boot logo screen and changed the text on it for entering setup to Enter Enrichment Center and hide...

Want to put a xp2400+ or greater on my ECS k7s5a...

Hey guys, I know I'm fairly new around here but I'm not a newbie to computers. I've had this motherboard for a few years and just recently I want to put on the max processor I can for this to work a bit better.
I do have 1 gig of ram already, but I want to see if I can put on a xp2400+ or possibly a xp2600+ processor.

I used a program to gather as much information on my motherboard as I can but I still don't know where to start about flashing it.

Help,Any new link for the k7s5a980.rar? The old one is not work.

Using the K7S5A Pro with 512 MB DRR3200 ram. Windows XP was experiencing lock ups after a short time running. The machine was previously running windows ME for years with no issues. The machine was basically upgraded with a new DVD burner and a new OS. It seemed stable at the time, but then started experiencing mysterious lock ups. I thought it was the iinstall of the OS, but after running UBUNTU 7.04 off Live CD, i was experiencing teh same Lock up issues. So i updated the BIOS of the MB...

I'm not sure if this post belongs in this forum, or in the general one, as my problem bothers both PCI slots and bios settings....

I've purchased a pci card (additional to my pci network card) and as the agp grafix card hides the first two pci slots I need to stick one card in either slot 5 or 4. But both slots don't work. Neither get gets recognized their. BOth cards work in slot 3.

I did a cmos clear and voila after being ask to hit either f1- to enter setup or...

Does bios update resolve the ACPI problem?Motherboard is K7S5A and original bios is "AMIBIOS(C)2001 K7S5A Release 09/20/2001 S". The problem is that i can install WinXp pro only if i didable ACPI from the bios.I am going to try with Amiboot's " K7S5A BIOS Rel 11/06/2004".

Hi,

Need to update the bios due to the quake4 issue, but I've also got 2 x 512Mb ECC ram sticks which I was wanting to utilise. However the board doesn't seem to support ECC, and so my question is .....Is there a bios that will support ECC memory ?

Ok, aftr MUCH seraching on the web, and this is the first time i've ever thought of doing this, but its a good system. I have the 62-0920-001437-00101111-040201-SiS735-K7S5A
K7S5A Release 9/20/2001 S and nobody has a match anywhere for this. Especially for this release date. I had to get the 160gb drive, cause the place didnt have a bigger one, and i'd hate to be stuck with only using around 137gb of that. Any ideas? Help. I'm having problem with my DDR ram pc 266, when i install it in my K7s5A in doesn't boot but when i install SD ram pc 133 t boots up fine. My K7s5A has a two DDR dimm, and two SD ram dimm. Please tell me what to do, to use my DDR ram. Also when i ran my processor athlon xp 2.0, my system only read it 1.66

Anyone please guide me what to do.

Hi,

Anyone know if this is my MB problem, I formatted my Seagate 160Gb HD and booted from CDROM to install Window XP, I was able to finish the first part which copy all the window files into the HD but after all files got copied over and needed to reboot to continue with the installation, can't boot into the HD keep getting a IDE 0 not found. I know it's there also the first part on the Window XP install I am able to select C drive to install.

Anyone know what the problem...
