my system is 1.8 athlon xp, win xp sp2, k7s5a bios 1.00. direct x9.0c.
i've put the old memory in to come back online, on running the dxdiag to get my mobo bios info, the direct music error came up again.

When I try to go into the BIOS setup, I am prompted for a password. I do not know the password as it is a used system. I tried to take out the battery while the system was unplugged thinking that it would forget the password, but to no avail. Any suggestions?

Just had to sign up and say THANK YOU! For anyone who cannot get their system to POST after installing 184 pin DDR, the OC 030327 BIOS was the fix. I've been working on PCs professionally for 18 years, never used a third party BIOS before...until now. Amazing.

Im still running PC-133 SDRAM and I am curious how much performace gain there might be after changing to DDR2100 RAM? The amount of RAM would stay the same, 512MB.

I format the disk to install a clean xp
the bord is a k7s5a more i dont know.

I recently got my hands on an Asus 7313 tv tuner card. It's supposedly a good entry level card for software tuner decoding. My issue is that the sound seems to be Mono - and only comes out of the left speaker.

Is it possible that the onboard sound cannot handle the transmission of this sound? Could a bios update specifically fix this, or any new driver?
