			<description><![CDATA[ I&#39;m trying to get an Athlon MP 1800+ running at it&#39;s rated 1.6Ghz but when I change the bus speed to 133/133 it won&#39;t post. It&#39;ll run at the
100/100 setting but then it&#39;s only going 1150 Mhz. I&#39;ve had an Athlon MP 1600+ running at 133/133 just fine. If I have to knock the RAM speed down to
100 (it&#39;s PC2700) then it&#39;s not what I&#39;d call an &#39;upgrade&#39;.

I&#39;ve got the k7s5a rev 3.1.

Bought a 2400+ XP, Thorton Core on ebay, first: No Post at all.

After putting some new thermo-paste on the processor -&gt; Boots as 2400 mhz duron (wtf?)

that means 24x100Mhz=2400! way too high multiplier...i dont know why.
<br>
anyway, PC stopped after recognizing IDE drives. it really drove me nuts!
<br>
tried all bioses, cleaned the board and the cpu... didnt help.

I used this board with an anthlon xp 1600+ with no problems. I upgraded the cpu to an athlon xp 2600+ ( on you web site it says is supported) but I cannot make
the board recognize it well. It says is a 1800+ or less depending on the fsb settings. I can set or 100mhz or 133mhz but does not get untill recognizing as a
2600+ ( that should run around 2000mhz). can you please help me sole my problem? thank you very much ( i tried also the custom bioses... ]]></description>

I have had two of these boards. One I had to get rid of because it kept playing up, the other I still have and apart from occasionally having to reset the BIOS
as you do - it performs very well.

At the moment it is fitted with a XP2200+ but I was thinking of giving it one last kick in the pants.

I have two CPUs in my possession from which to chose: an XP2500+ and an XP-M 2400+ - which one am I better off using and with what settings?

works fine. Is there something I am missing here. The XP-M&#39;s where supposed to be new old stock.

			<description><![CDATA[ I salvaged an AMD Athlon 2400+ from an old system and put it into one of these boards, revision 3.1a. With the FSB at 133, I got the full 2GHz. I don&#39;t
know what happened, but one day I booted up into the Checksum Error message that happens when you reset the BIOS, and the computer froze within seconds after
booting into XP and caused Kernel Panics in Ubuntu 7.10. BIOS upgrades didn&#39;t solve anything.

			<description><![CDATA[ Hi all,<br>I have been trying to build a DVR using my old K7S5A board with the Air2PC tuner card. It works but when a High Definition (HD) signal is received the processor saturates and the picture and sound just stops and starts.  According to the specs on the Air2PC card it only requires a Pentium III 600 MHz processor for HD processing.  I have tried adding memory, Windows 2000, XP and Ubuntu. All with the same results.
